Applying
The first step in applying for an apartment is to complete an apartment application. The apartment application can be completed electronically or through an apartment application form, which can be printed out or picked up from our office. Once the apartment application has been made, you can inquire about available apartments from our apartment secretaries. If you wish to make changes to your application, contact us by email or phone.
Fill out an apartment applicationThe application will only be processed once all necessary attachments have been submitted.
Apartment offers are generally sent by e-mail. So make sure that your email address is correct! Please also check your email spam folder regularly, as sent messages may sometimes end up there.
Please note that some vacant apartments mentioned on our website may be reserved for applicants in our register. These apartments will only be removed from the website once their rental agreements have been signed.
For every applicant over 18 years of age:
- Regarding the taxation proposal (veroehdotus), the taxation decision with itemisations (Mandatory)
- Proof of monthly income (Mandatory)
- Employed; salary certificate or last payslip
- Pensioner; certificate of gross pensions
- Unemployed, on an employment course; a certificate of daily allowance paid by Kela or a trade union

You can check out our apartments beforehand in locations and then inform your preferences in your application. Please note that vacant student apartments do not show on the “Vacant apartments” page.
Remember to send your student apartment application well in time! During the summer, in particular, we have a limited amount of student apartments available and we can’t promise that everyone will get an apartment. NOTE! Submit the application after you have received a residence permit, send it to the e-mail info@kajaaninpietari.fi.
The apartments are offered on the basis of the moving date. This means that an applicant who is moving in July will get an apartment offer before an applicant moving in August. At the beginning of September, there will be only a few apartments left. The apartment offers will be sent by email, so remember to check your email and spam folder regularly.
Please note that during the summertime our office is really busy, so replies to emails and phone calls may be delayed.
A security deposit is collected for the apartment, which must be paid before the rental agreement is signed.
Deposits from 1.1.2015 onwards:
- Studio apartments 400,00€
- Two room apartments 600,00€
- Three room apartments 750,00€
- Four room apartments 900,00€

As an alternative to a cash security deposit, we also accept social assistance vouchers from Kela. A customer covered by basic income support can apply for social assistance vouchers from Kela. The application must be made to Kela immediately upon receiving an apartment offer. All necessary attachments must be submitted when making an application. We are unable to wait for a decision if the processing is prolonged due to an incomplete application or a negative decision. View more information on Kela’s social assistance vouchers here or at Kela.fi.
The social assistance vouchers are always double the amount of rent of the apartment. The social assistance vouchers must be submitted in writing by their due date or the apartment offer will be cancelled!
- The apartment application is valid for a period of 3 months at a time, the applicant must take care of renewing the application themselves (e.g. by phone)
- We do not process incomplete applications
- We check the applicant’s credit information
- If the applicant has a debt to KOy Kajaanin Pietari or another rental company, the applicant must pay off such a debt before a new apartment can be granted
