The recycling truck will be making the tour of the apartment buildings owned by Pietari in Kajaani in early June 2026 (June 1–3, 2026). It will collect hazardous household waste and electrical appliances from residents free of charge. Bring in, free of charge, items such as household paints, varnishes, glues, oils, and electrical appliances that run on mains power, batteries, rechargeable batteries, or solar energy.
We will post the recycling truck’s schedule on the notice board at the apartments – keep an eye out for announcements! The recycling truck’s stops in your area have been announced. Some residents of Pietari housing complexes take the aforementioned waste to the waste collection point at their stop (note: the recycling truck does not stop at every Pietari housing complex).
The recycling truck is intended only for residents of Kiinteistö Oy Kajaanin Pietari, and you cannot dispose of commercial waste, fireworks, etc., gas cylinders, pressure-treated wood (including other construction waste), or furniture in the recycling truck.
The recycling truck is a new pilot project, and decisions regarding its continuation will be made separately at a later date. The recycling truck pilot promotes waste sorting and recycling! At the same time, the goal is to limit the increased waste disposal costs, which contribute to future rent increases.
